Sheet Metal Part Properties

Sheet Metal Part Properties can be accessed by right-clicking on the part level of the sheet metal and selecting Properties followed by selecting Sheet Metal in the dialog tabs. Also, you can select More Properties in the Quick Access Browser when selecting the Sheet Metal part. Below are the available options:

  • Stock properties.  Use the following options to define the stock properties of the selected sheet metal part.
  • Name.  This uneditable field displays the current default stock type.
  • Weight.  In this field, enter the desired weight for the selected sheet metal part.
  • Thickness.  This field displays the thickness associated with the current default stock type.  Although inserting an alternate value in this field does not change the stock thickness in the scene, insertion of an alternate value may be desired when performing an analysis of the part.
  • Minimum bend radius.  In this field, enter the desired minimum bend radius to be used for he current sheet metal part.  This only applies to bends for which minimum bend radius has been specified as the method for defining the radius.
  • Code.  This uneditable field displays the code for the current default stock type.
  • Gauge.  This uneditable field displays the gauge associated with the current default stock type.
  • K-factor.  In this field, enter the desired stock k-factor to be used for the selected sheet metal part.
  • Select a new stock.  Select this option to display the Select Stock dialog box to browse and specify an alternate stock type for the selected sheet metal part.

Bend Allowance

  • Use DIN 6935 standard.  Select this option to specify that the DIN 6935 bend allowance standard be used for the selected sheet metal part.
  • Show rule.  Select this option to display the formula used to calculate bend allowance.

Sheet Metal Thickness Parameter

The above Thickness value can be set to a parameter name to control the part's thickness via the Parameter table.
